Programmes

The Grammar School’s popular Athletic and STEM programmes are offered as options in addition to the regular curriculum.

Athletic Programme

The Athletic Programme offered by the School are: Football, Basketball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field and Martial Arts.  The Athletic Programme do not replace the students’ training in their individual sport club or team. Their function is supplementary, helping to improve students’ performance in their sport without affecting their academic progress.  Students are selected according to criteria related to their sport.

Training takes place four times a week during the academic support or reinforcement programme for students so the academic side of their studies is not affected.

Outstanding student-athletes are provided with scholarships for their studies.

Football

Our school now proudly operates its own football academy, providing top-level training and development for aspiring athletes. Training sessions take place at the school premises, ensuring a professional and supportive environment for our students.

Martial Arts

The Martial Arts Sports Programme sharpens student-athletes' skills and endurance through focused training four times a week, with specialized equipment. It cultivates discipline, precision, and resilience, fostering leadership and personal growth.

STEM PROGRAMME

STEM Programme

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education is a relatively new mode of thinking about how best to educate and prepare students to become creative problem solvers and effective communicators.

STEM education removes the traditional barriers between the four disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), by integrating the four subjects into one cohesive stream of teaching and learning. The engineering component puts emphasis on the process and design of solutions instead of the solutions themselves.  This approach allows students to develop the critical thinking skills that can be applied to all facets of their work and academic lives.

The technology component allows for a deeper understanding of the three other parts of STEM education.  It allows students to apply what they have learned, utilizing computers with specialized and professional applications in order to explore STEM subjects in greater detail and in a practical manner.

Students in Class 1 who are interested in maths, science and emerging technologies and have a passion for STEM related study, can apply to enter the 3-year STEM Programme. Students must have a high average in Science and Mathematics and advanced performance on a Computational Thinking Test.
